Transforming a Family Business into a Global Mattress Manufacturer
Kaneman is more than a business; it’s the continuation of my family’s legacy. Our roots lie in Xiquan Sponge Factory and Xiquan Quilting Factory, where we supplied raw materials like sponge blocks and quilted fabrics to sofa and mattress manufacturers across northern China.
During my early days of managing the company, I began researching global market trends and discovered the growing demand for compressed mattresses, also known as mattresses-in-a-box. This innovative product, with its convenience and cost-efficiency for shipping, was perfectly suited for export markets.
I realized that we could leverage our expertise in sponge and quilting to expand into the mattress manufacturing business. To make this vision a reality, I invested in the latest spring assembly machines and compression equipment, building a fully integrated production line capable of handling everything from raw materials to finished, export-ready mattresses.
Our first breakthrough came from a client in Malta, a small but promising market in southern Europe. The client visited China to inspect our factory, and what he saw left a lasting impression. He was amazed by our one-stop production capabilities—from raw materials to finished mattresses ready for branding. After thorough discussions, he entrusted us with his trademark for OEM production. Over the years, he has become more than a client—he’s become a friend.
Today, we continue to grow, exporting mattresses to markets around the world and forming long-term partnerships with clients who rely on us for innovative solutions and dependable service.
Why This Project is Successful
When Peter, the owner of EuroRest, approached me in 2012, he was at a crossroads. His small mattress import business in Australia was struggling to compete with established players, and he faced mounting challenges.
At Kaneman, After extensive discussions and analysis, we identified a gap for premium, eco-friendly mattresses tailored to Australia standards, designed a line of mattresses exclusively for EuroRest.
As demand grew, we scaled production seamlessly, enabling him to meet the increasing needs of retailers without delays or quality concerns.
Peter’s journey wasn’t easy. But with Kaneman’s support, he gained not just reliable products but a strategic partner who stood by him through every hurdle.
Today, EuroRest is one of the largest mattress importers in Australia, supplying to major retailers and earning widespread recognition.
